Mirror, Mirror……
One of my early memories of noticing that my posture needed some attention was when I saw myself in a candid photo. I was unaware that a photo was being taken and it showed the unsuspecting me, not posing, and positively slouched.
Part of maintaining healthy alignment, proper body mechanics, and healthful posture is AWARENESS. Another part is PHYSICAL, and yet another aspect is HABIT.
Today’s tip focuses on awareness.
Pro tip: Install a mirror near your working environment; outside of your vocal booth, someplace in your studio, in a place that you pass by on your way to your office. You get the idea!
Now glance at your image from time to time as a reminder to bring those shoulders down and back, tuck that chin, and lift yourself as if being pulled by a string from the top of your head.
