ABOUT

Melissa Kay Benson is an energetic stage actor, CrossFit Masters athlete, and human anatomy enthusiast.

Her youthful voice, acting range, and sunny disposition are well suited to the genres of middle grade, YA and cozy mysteries. She has played a 75-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy in the same show, alternating between the two: a feat of flexibility.

Her experience in performing human dissections, her fifteen-year career as a medical massage therapist, and being a mom, has developed, in her, an ease with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and situations involving blood and guts!

Here’s the plot twist: beneath that bubbly personality, also lies a passion for narrating psychological and medical thrillers.

She uses her experience as a myofascial (connective tissue) therapist to help other audiobook narrators with improving their posture and health in the booth.

She is a firm believer that keeping our bodies strong can sustain the, surprisingly, physical aspect of narration.

What is #BoothHealth?

I use my 15 years of experience as a medical myofascial therapist to educate fellow narrators on posture, breathing, and easy habits to stay healthy in the booth.
